Food scraps are sneaky. Even if you think you’ve scraped plates well, tiny bits of rice, vegetable peels, dal and bones slip into the sink. Over time, they stick to grease inside pipes and create gunk.
A mesh strainer sits over the drain and catches these solids. You just lift it, empty the collected bits into the trash, and pop it back. Water still flows, but your pipes stay much cleaner.
It’s a very low-tech, low-cost solution that can prevent those horrible, smelly, fully-blocked sink moments from happening too often.
