Curtain rods carry constant weight and minor pulling force as you open and close them. If brackets start to loosen and wiggle, that movement slowly enlarges the screw holes in the wall. One day the entire bracket can rip out, taking chunks of plaster with it.
If you tighten screws or add proper wall plugs as soon as you notice the wobble, you reduce stress on the fixings. The rod stays stable, the bracket stays aligned, and the wall doesn’t get cracked or broken.
It’s much easier to re-tighten a screw than to repair a damaged wall and reinstall the entire setup.
