How can placing labels or tags on pots help you remember plant names and care needs?

Date:

In the beginning, you think, “Of course I’ll remember which plant is which.” A few months and a few more plant purchases later, all the green starts blending together. You forget which one hated direct sun or which one liked staying slightly moist.

Small labels—handwritten tags, popsicle sticks, or even washi tape on pots—with the plant name and one key care note (“low light,” “likes more water,” “full sun”) work as memory aids. Even if you’re not a plant nerd, this helps you avoid fatal mistakes like putting a shade lover into harsh afternoon sun.

It also makes it easier for someone else to care for your plants if you’re away. They can follow the tags without needing a full lecture.
